In 1975, pilot and aviation history aficionado, Jeff Clyman, set out to manufacture jackets similar to those worn by World War II pilots. But, above and beyond manufacturing, Clyman’s vision was to keep alive the very special spirit of the pioneers and heroes of US aviation, including Lindbergh, Doolittle, Fisher and Yeager. The Cockpit Collection is designed by Jeff Clyman, founder of Avirex Ltd. The collection includes the flight jackets which made him famous while flying Air Force fighters and driving vintage aircraft, cars and motorcycles which are now part of The American Airpower Museum at Republic Airport in New York founded by Jeff Clyman. In addition to being one of the most recognized and respected classic American outerwear designers, Jeff's previous brand, Avirex, supplied the Mil Spec jackets for the movie “Top Gun” and has produced garments for the American Air Forces.
