| In 1975, pilot and aviation history aficionado, Jeff Clyman, set out to manufacture jackets similar to those worn by World War II pilots. But, above and beyond manufacturing, Clyman’s vision was to keep alive the very special spirit of the pioneers and heroes of US aviation, including Lindbergh, Doolittle, Fisher and Yeager. In addition to being one of the most recognized and respected classic American outerwear companies, Avirex supplied the Mil Spec jackets for the movie “Top Gun” and has produced garments for the American Air Forces.
