You are probably wondering why First Street Leather is on Copenhagen Drive rather than First Street. This is the story. Philip began his leather career making belts and custom footwear for Leather Limited at their shop in Isla Vista, California. Not long after, Leather Limited opened a store at 475 First Street in Solvang in the Santa Ynez Valley. Philip managed that shop and in 1972 he bought the business and changed the name to FIRST STREET LEATHER. He continued to make handmade leather footwear, leather belts, leather wallets and other small latigo leather accessories in the shop for many years. |

| In 1992 he moved the business from First Street to its larger, present location at 1634 Copenhagen Drive. He now works closely with a garment maker in Los Angeles producing his own line of hand made garments. He and his wife Cassandra travel to Montreal, New York, Paris, Bologna, Florence and Rome in search of new luxurious skins and the finest leather goods, leather jackets and fur coats. |
| Having been in business for over 25 years, Philip has developed personal relationships with others in the business that allows him to present premier quality leather accessories, leather jackets and furs at a price that comes as a pleasant surprise to those who know quality leather goods. |
