The best flight jacket we have found is made, of course, by AVIREX, who has the contact with the government. Patterned after the famous WWII A-2 Army Air Corps jacket, the AVIREX VINTAGE FRENCH LAMB A-2 is a fuller cut than the original (which is snug), so that it is roomy and comfortable. The decorative lining (this is the best part) has the American flag in the center, with an Italian lira sewn in on the side, just in case you are shot down over Italy. A black and white "Vargas" style pinup, 'personally' autographed, is sewn in on the other side- so that you are never alone up in those unfriendly skies, and an "Ode to Mother" poem is under the U.S. flag - just to keep priorities straight.

The VINTAGE LAMBSKINS AVIREX uses are tanned in France, and are unique in that they will soften up and loose their finish, taking on an old USED, VINTAGE look. I wore one for 5 months, from December to May, and hung it up in the store next to the new AVIREX  VINTAGE LAMB bombers, and, of course, it is the jacket that everyone, at first, wants to buy. Slightly poly-filled, the AVIREX VINTAGE LAMB A-2 is cozy and warm without being bulky.

The look of suede without the care of suede. This cow nubuck tan jacket with forest green accent trim is so care free you can CLEAN IT WITH WATER, and wear it in the rain and snow- without a problem! The double collar detail is highlighted by the 2 tone contrasting trim. Lined with a quilted, warm polyfill lining, the cold and the wind can not get to you! Four outside pockets- 2 cargo pockets and 2 hand warmer pockets, plus 3 inside- 1 for your cell phone, and one on either side- chest high.

THE JED    First Street Leather #2387

How about a suede jacket so light that it feels like a shirt? Well, we tried an experiment, and that's what we've created in the JED. Cut from shirting weight, water repellant lamb suede that we have tanned in Massachusetts for our suede shirt, this loose fitting 27" jacket is very comfortable, with a rich drape. The front is cut from full hides, with only 2 panels, one left and one right, with clean hand-pocket entry. Not busy with 'bells and whistles', the JED is especially flattering on larger sizes. Gathered suede waistband, with satin lining and snap cuffs.

Available in water repellant lamb SUEDE SHIRTING- vicuna ( shown here)  and oak (fawn).  Also available in smooth NAPPA butter lamb- black, forest green, and Santa Lucia brown. ( The 2387 is very popular as a clean, classic, black lamb jacket.)

Our hipster is 29" long and boasts a decorative yoke chest seam. Cut to be lightweight, the construction is simply the hides, lined with satin. The cuff is clean and straight, with clean, diagonal hand warmer pocket openings. Longer than a bomber, and open at the bottom hem with no elastic, there is a sense of elegance with this length. What's interesting with the hipster, is that, cut in smooth skins, black let's say, it has a very 'urban', sleek feel to it, and cut in suede or nubuck, as it is here, it takes on a very 'country' feel.

We can do it in either- just give us a couple of weeks- and have several smooth colors and nubuck ready made in stock.

 THE WESTERN BLAZER    First Street Leather #885

Spain is world renowned for her leathers and here is a perfect example.  FIRST STREET LEATHER has taken a beautiful Spanish lamb nubuck and hand crafted a classic, discreet, WESTERN BLAZER, style 885.  Details such as front shoulder yokes, bi-swing "action" back, and center vent keep this blazer timeless.  The fit is shapely, not boxy.  The bi-swing back gives ample room and comfort when reaching and moving.  The skins are crystal clear with a luxurious micro nap. 

This skin will clean with water and will NOT water spot!.

THE CAMDEN BLAZER

This is our 744-1 blazer cut in a new skin this season- kariba DEER SUEDE. With more weight than lamb suede, the DEER SUEDE works very well at keeping the structure of the blazer as it ages over time. This is truly the luxurious replacement for that old corduroy blazer with suede elbow patches that you loved to wear with your favorite jeans.

THE CAMDEN BLAZER    First Street Leather #744-1 

Our "weekend" blazer has been our most popular blazer style for seasons, and the 744-1 benefits from all the refinements of earlier models. The fit is very comfortable and relaxed, while preserving a flattering, not over -sized, look. Worn well with a pair of your favorite jeans, the CAMDEN blazer translates very well in NUBUCK and brushed lamb skins- skins with a nap or texture. Details include a 2 button front; straight cuffs; clean, no - vent- back; and clean, horizontal welt pockets. The CAMDEN blazer is  a casual fit. With this in mind, it also works well as a dress blazer ( perhaps in smooth black?) for the fuller fit customer who feels uncomfortable in the snug, suit - coat fit.
